The property market is off to a strong start this year and we have seen a surge in enquiries from buyers eager to make their next move.
Whether you’re a first-time buyer, home mover, or looking to remortgage, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year in the housing sector.
The markets are predicting a base rate cut from 4.75% to 4.5% later this week. This is unlikely to change the rates of anyone with an application in process unfortunately (Lenders have likely already factored this reduction into their fixed-rate mortgage pricing), this move signals a positive shift for the rest of 2025. With the economy in need of a boost, businesses and homeowners alike would welcome this change.
If we’ve spoken before but the timing wasn’t quite right, now could be a great time to revisit your plans. Get in touch today, and let’s make your next move happen!
2024 was easily the busiest year we have ever known in the later life sector.
The number of people moving and buying their first home in their 60’s and 70’s using mainstream mortgages, specialised older borrower mortgages or equity release has increased and we very pleased to have had an influence on the growing awareness in the later life lending market, that the fixation on equity release as being the only answer for those over 60 is not the best approach.
2025 is to be the year of the ‘Comprehensive Conversation’. We have taken this holistic approach since we started advising older clients and our later life advisors are also skilled in mainstream mortgages and the products which deal with that tricky time when you are still working but looking to retire in the near future.
The new generation of lifetime mortgages (equity release) offer more flexibility than ever with lenders competing to offer the best features, including good discounts for paying the interest, as well as on rate.
If you are over 60 and considering your mortgage options, book in for a chat about the large range of options which could be available to you.
